CueTrack Live setup and troubleshooting.

Use this guide to connect Stage Timer and Controller devices for rehearsals, shows, conferences and production environments.

How to connect devices

Put the Stage device and Controller device on the same Wi-Fi or local network. Choose the device that will show the timer, then connect the Controller device to it before the live session begins.

  1. Open CueTrack Live on the device that will act as the Stage Timer.
  2. Select Stage mode and keep the device visible to the presenter, crew or output path.
  3. Open CueTrack Live on the Controller device.
  4. Select Controller mode and connect to the Stage device on the same local network.
  5. Confirm the connected stage status before starting the timer.

How Stage mode works

Stage mode is the display role. It shows the active timer, timing state, warnings, critical states, cue alerts and prominent operator messages.

Stage mode can run on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Use it anywhere a clear timer needs to be seen by presenters, operators or production teams.

How Controller mode works

Controller mode operates the Stage Timer remotely over the local network. It supports start, pause, reset, adding or subtracting one minute, cue alerts and messages.

Use Controller mode from the production desk, stage management position, show caller station or another operator location.

Mac fullscreen output basics

On Mac, CueTrack Live can provide a fullscreen output window suitable for an external monitor, projector or routed production display. Place the output window on the display you want the stage or room to see, then enter fullscreen.

Mac can also be used as the Stage Timer itself, or as a Controller for another Stage device.

Troubleshooting connection issues

  • Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi or local network.
  • Check that local network permissions are enabled for CueTrack Live.
  • Make sure one device is in Stage mode and the other is in Controller mode.
  • Restart the app on both devices if discovery does not appear.
  • On managed venue networks, ask whether device-to-device discovery or local traffic is blocked.
